Abel reels, along with all of their other products, are produced in Camarillo, California, United States of America. Every part, down to the screws, is made there. So, when Abel engraves Made in the USA, on their reels, they mean it. Abel reels are a lifetime product, often passed down from one generation to the next, insuring that the sport of fly fishing lives on. You may pay a little more at the beginning, but think of what your great-grandchildren will say when they are still using your "old" reel years from now. With several models to choose from, Abel has a reel for every situation.

ABEL SUPER SERIES (LARGE ARBOR DESIGN)

This is the 11th year for the Super Series. All super series reels are ported, and have a drag system that gives you the ability to Stop-a-Sub. Super Series Reels spools are also 100% interchangeable with spools of comparably-sized standard Abel Big Game Reels. This allows you to have one reel for two line weights, with ample backing.

Available Line Weights: 2-20, depending on model

Reel Weights: 4.4-15.4 oz., depending on model

All reels come standard with an outgoing click, which can be removed if you prefer.

ABEL BIG GAME (STANDARD ARBOR REEL)

The original Big Game was introduced in 1987. Since then, they have only gotten better. A standard arbor design allows for ample backing for any situation. All Big Game reels come with a solid frame, but may be obtained in a ported version, at a modest additional charge.

Available Line Weights: 2-20, depending on model

Reel Weights: 4.2-18 oz., depending on model and whether or not it is ported.

ABEL ANTI-REVERSE REELS

Abel Anti-Reverse Reels are lightweight, utilize a unique ball bearing design, and have fewer moving parts than other anti-reverse reels. Anti-Reverse simply means that the handle does not turn when a fish is taking line. Anti-Reverse reels DO NOT disqualify IGFA records.

Available Line Weights: 7-20, depending on model

Reel Weights: 8.9-16 oz., depending on model

Available in both Standard and Large Arbor design.

ABEL CREEK LARGE ARBOR SERIES

Modern, lightweight, large arbor trout reels, with an adjustable, click drag. The narrow frame, coupled with a large arbor, delivers a fast retrieve with a classic, elegant look. Standard arbor spools are also available, doubling the number of lines a reel can handle.

Available Line Weights: 1-7, depending on model and arbor

Reel Weights: 3.8-4.2 oz, depending on model

Every Abel Reel can be customized with laser engravings, styles of anodization, and different reel handles; thus, making yours a truly one of a kind collector's item.
